Indulge in the restorative benefits of Yin yoga in Upasna's heated studio. Our slow-paced classes focus on deep stretching and prolonged poses, promoting flexibility in the body’s connective tissues. Surrender to stillness and find rejuvenation in every breath, enhanced by the soothing heat.

This class is designed for individuals with past injuries or physical limitations, as traditional poses are thoughtfully adapted to meet varying needs and abilities. Props such as chairs help reduce impact on the joints, provide the option to practice poses off the ground, and offer added support for balance-focused postures.

The mobility portion of the class focuses on bringing movement into yoga poses, exploring and enhancing the basic range of motion (BRM) in the joints, such as the shoulders, knees, and hips. The flexibility component works on lengthening muscles, improving overall mobility, and supporting ease of movement at every stage of life.

In this class a folding chair is used to adapt traditional poses for varying needs and abilities. Using a chair lowers impact on joints, offers the option to do poses while seated off of the ground, and gives added support for balancing poses. This class is open to all experience levels and abilities.

A restorative yoga class includes the use of bolsters, blocks, blankets, and more. The aim is to bring the nervous system into “rest and digest” mode. There are fewer poses in this type of practice, and no muscle engagement, is cued. Instead, poses are held passively, supported with the props. Poses are lying down, or seated versions that can be maintained this way, longer.
